     PROVEN LEADERSHIP         REAL EXPERIENCE

John Loughran is a 3rd generation Law Enforcement Officer and a 40-year resident of Travis County. He is a highly decorated, 25-year former Sergeant of TCSO and is the proud father to 2 intelligent, independent, and compassionate teenage daughters. John has a passion for public service and being a role model within his community, having volunteered for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Austin, YMCA youth athletics, Gateway Church, etc.

John began his career at TCSO in 1992. He established himself as a dedicated and honorable lawman, compiling a very diverse career and establishing himself as a well-respected leader. John regularly went "Above-and-Beyond" the call-of-duty; in addition to his regular assignments, John was a voluntary 16-year member of the TCSO Dive Team, assisting in the recovery of 75-100 drowning victims, including that of his own assigned deputy, Sr. Deputy Jessica Hollis on 9-19-14.

John left TCSO in 2017, following a passion for "seeing results" by beginning a successful landscaping company, giving him a fresh perspective on law enforcement and community concerns. As a landscaper, John regularly does pro-bono projects for Military Veteran's, elderly, and those in need.
